Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Advice

Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training course

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a safe, reliable, computerised device that can analyse a heart rhythm (more accurately than a doctor!) and enable a non-medically qualified rescuer to safely deliver a life saving shock to the victim of a cardiac arrest. An AED is now a standard piece of first aid equipment.

If someone suffers a cardiac arrest, the presence of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and a small amount of training for your staff can literally be the difference between life and death.

If you have to wait for an Ambulance to arrive, your chance of survival is only around 5%.
With prompt defibrillation using an AED however, studies prove the chance of survival can rise to around 75%.

With each minute that defibrillation is delayed,
the chance of survival drops by up to 10%

With the introduction of Annual Refresher Training for workplace First Aiders, the additional training costs once associated with AEDs have become minimal and in recent years there has also been a significant reduction in the price of AED equipment. These changes have now made this life saving equipment far more affordable to employers of all sizes, resulting in a significant rise in the number of AEDs located in UK workplaces.

First on Scene Training can help you provide the benefits of this vital equipment to your staff through a range AED rental, purchase and training options.
